DS_IPCPUT_OLD_TIMEOUT_BEHAVIOR

Set this environment variable to disable a change to the open timeout behaviour of the IPC link that was introduced in IBM® InfoSphere® Information Server, Version 8.7.

The IPC link is used to pass data between the parallel engine and a basic transformer stage or a server shared container. The IPC link has a default open timeout of 5 seconds. A writer waits that long for a reader to connect, and a reader waist that long for the writer to create the shared memory pipe.

Setting DS_IPCPUT_OLD_TIMEOUT_BEHAVIOR=1 restores the timeout behavior as used in releases before IBM InfoSphere Information Server, Version 8.7. If DS_IPCPUT_OLD_TIMEOUT_BEHAVIOR is set, the timeout occurs only if the process connected to the other end of the IPC link is no longer running or the job state is no longer running.
