Planning to install on z/OS systems
When you install Jazz™ Team Server and
the other Rational® solution
for Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM) products on a z/OS® system, you must complete
a few steps in addition to the general deployment and installation
tasks.
Installing on a z/OS system
has several significant differences from installing on other systems:
- IBM® Installation Manager is not compatible with installations on z/OS systems.
- Installations on z/OS systems are handled by SMP/E (System Modification Program/Extended).
- Jazz Team Server and the other CLM applications on z/OS systems use configuration and working directories that are separate from installation directories.
- z/OS installations can be a hybrid of applications installed on z/OS systems and other systems.
For instructions to install the Rational solution for CLM on a z/OS system, see the following list of topics. The topics describe the steps you must take to modify sample members and other files and run them. For a printable version of the installation instructions, see Rational CLM Installation Guide for z/OS version 6.0.2.
Alternatively, you can use the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle management (CLM) configuration utility to create a work flow that configures the CLM components. See Installing the configuration utility for more information.
