Scenario: Sending a receipt to a purchase order with an SFTP exchange

Your partner can also retrieve a purchase receipt with an SFTP inbound one-way pull exchange.

Before you begin

This scenario assumes that the dependent resources in the following scenario are already configured:

To configure an SFTP inbound one-way pull exchange, you must be a user with the permissions to configure any dependent resources. For this scenario, also ensure that the following resources are configured:

Destination
An SFTP pull destination, SFTP Destination

You must also have the permissions to manage directories and subdirectories on the associated SFTP server. For more information about managing files and directories on an SFTP host server, see Management of files on an SFTP server.

About this task

Your trading partner sent you a purchase order. You might want to send your partner a receipt for their purchase in response. You can enable your trading partner to retrieve a purchase receipt with an SFTP inbound one-way pull exchange.

Tip: In SFTP inbound one-way pull exchanges, your trading partner is not required to have SFTP server capability. Having SFTP client capability on your end is sufficient to configure and use the exchange pattern.

Procedure

To configure an exchange profile to send a purchase order receipt:

  1. Log in to B2B Advanced Communications as a user with the permissions to configure an SFTP exchange profile.
  2. Click Exchanges > Exchange Profiles.
  3. On the Exchange Profiles page, click New > Protocol Inbound.
  4. On the New Exchange Profile page, create an SFTP one-way inbound exchange with the following basic information and click Save:
    1. In the Profile name field, enter Purchase Order Receipts.
    2. Select SFTP Inbound One-way Pull for Exchange pattern.
  5. On the detailed view for the new exchange profile, click Participating Organizations to specify the participating organizations:
    1. For the Owner Organization, or your organization, click Select field, and select Your Organization.
    2. For the Receiver ID, click New field, and enter 000000001.
    3. For the Receiver ID type, click New field, and enter supplier.
    4. For the Trading Partner Organization, click Select field, and select Trading Partner.
    5. For the Sender ID, click New field, and enter 000000002.
    6. For the Sender ID type, click New field, and enter purchaser.
  6. Click Action: Send Data to Trading Partner to specify the connection settings for the exchange profile:
    1. For Select Destination, click Select and select SFTP Destination.
    2. For Configure connection and click Edit.
    3. For User Authentication, click Select and select Trading Partner User.
    4. For Associated Keys, click Associate New Key and select tradingPartnerKey.
    5. For Path, select /home/Trading Partner User/inbox/.
    6. Click OK.
  7. Click Deploy Exchange Profile and Deploy to complete and deploy your exchange profile.

Results

Your trading partner is now enabled to retrieve purchase order receipts from your SFTP server.
