Uninstalling IBM® Power® Virtualization Center

This topic describes how to uninstall PowerVC from your management server.

The following procedure removes PowerVC from the management server. It does not remove or change anything in your environment that you created while you were using PowerVC. Any Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® prerequisite packages that are installed during the PowerVC installation remain.

Run the following command to uninstall PowerVC.
/opt/ibm/powervc/bin/powervc-uninstall

Options

-f
The optional -f parameter forcefully removes PowerVC. It runs the uninstall even if the initial PowerVC install check fails.
-h
The optional -h parameter displays this help message and exits.
-l
The optional -l parameter disables uninstall logging. Logging is enabled by default.
-s
Performs PowerVC backup operation and saves the configuration data. For example, a potential file path is /var/opt/ibm/powervc/backups/201391214289350413/powervc_backup.tar.gz .
-y
The optional -y parameter indicates that you are answering yes, confirming that you want to uninstall the product. Including -y will perform a silent uninstall.
A log file can be found in the following location: /var/log/powervc-uninstall.log.
