File imported into wrong database

How to correct a database if the wrong files are imported into the database.

Symptoms

Resolving the problem

If a file is imported into the wrong database and contacts need to be removed, you will need to perform the following:

  1. Import the file as a New Database.
  2. Go toView Data.
  3. Click Purge.
  4. On the next screen, in the Select the contact source you would like to remove contacts from. area, click select and choose the database you wish to have contacts removed from (Parent Database).
  5. On the next line, select the contact source which contains the contacts you would like to use for purging., click select and choose the database that was just imported (CSV file used to update database) to Purge (remove) against the Parent Database.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Click Submit.

Once the data job has completed, the contacts will be removed and Acoustic Campaign will create a Purge Database. This will contain the recipients that were removed from the Parent Database.
