Enhancement in IBM Control Desk version 7.6.1 – IFR1 (Interim Feature Release 1)

IBM® Control Desk version 7.6.1 is enhanced with Interim Feature Release 1 (IFR1) as follows.

Installing
Installation is now supported for WebSphere® Application Server Network Deployment version 9.0.5 and DB2® version 11.5. For information, see Installing and upgrading and WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment.

With the IBM Control Desk 7.6.1 - IFR1, there is a change in how the Db2 installation and update files will be packaged with IBM Control Desk as well as the industry solutions. Db2 base versions are now bundled with Maximo, and it is highly recommended that fix central is always checked to ensure that the latest fix pack has been applied. Failure to do so could result in limitation of core memory or incompatibility issues.

The Db2 11.5 version will not be installed through the Maximo launchpad as previous versions of Db2 had been. To upgrade an existing Db2 instance to the latest version you can use files accessed through fix central or for a new install, use the files bundled in Passport advantage and then check for the latest fix pack.

Follow this link to the full documentation on how to apply fixes to Db2.
