Introducing IBM Control Desk for Maximo®

IBM Control Desk for Maximo is the newest member of the IBM Control Desk family of products. Along with all the functionality of IBM Control Desk, IBM Control Desk for Maximo also includes applications for preventive maintenance and quick reporting. For more information, see Product editions.

IBM Control Desk now supports integrations withBigFix Inventory
IBM Control Desk now includes features that support integration with BigFix Inventory. The following scenarios are supported:
  • Importing the BigFix Inventory software catalog
  • Importing hardware and usage data from BigFix Inventory
  • Reporting on license compliance from the BigFix Inventory data that you imported
  • Support for different license types in IBM Control Desk
  • Assigning a license in IBM Control Desk and forwarding the information to BigFix Inventory for reporting

A team proxy role has been added to Service Portal

IBM Control Desk mobile app updates

There are numerous enhancements for the IBM Control Desk mobile app. See Using the Control Desk mobile app.

The following applications are now disabled by default:
  • Getting Started as an Asset Manager (GSAM)
  • Getting Started as a Change Manager (GSCM)
  • Getting Started as a Service Desk Agent (GSSDA)
  • Workflow Launcher
- If you want to enable these applications, complete the following steps:
  1. Go To -> Security -> Security Groups.
  2. Open the security groups that you want to grant access to.
  3. Click the Applications tab and filter for the application that you want to apply the condition to.
  4. In the signature options row for Read Access, check Grant Access.
  5. Save.
IBM Control Desk on Cloud in the IBM Knowledge Center has been removed
