Installing the secure connector for WebSphere Cast Iron Cloud services

WebSphere® Cast Iron® secure connector enables the WebSphere Cast Iron Cloud services to communicate with on-premises services. The secure connector must be running before you start a service on the cloud.

About this task

The secure connector must be downloaded and installed on the network within the enterprise that has outbound access. This connector enables communication with an endpoint behind a firewall. Use this procedure to download and configure the secure connector.

Procedure

  1. Log in to WebSphere Cast Iron Live Cloud.
  2. From the Development menu, select System > Secure Connectors.
  3. You can choose to create a new connector or select to use an existing one.
  4. On the Edit Secure Connector dialog, select Download Installer and Download Connector.
  5. On the Business-level applications page, click the InfoSphere MDM application. Select your EBA deployed asset. For example, com.ibm.mdm.hub.server.app-E001_0001.eba.
    1. Select Extensions for this composition unit.
    2. Then, select PartyMaintenanceCba and com.ibm.mdm.sfdc.cba.

    3. Click Add.
  6. When the download is complete, double-click the secure connector executable file to start the installation. Proceed through the wizard to complete the installation.
  7. Instructions for starting the connector depends on your operating system. Go to the download_directory/Cast Iron Secure Connector version/Start Secure Connector directory.
    • On Windows installed as a service: Select Start > Contol Panel > Administrative Tools > Sevices > IBM Secure Connector . Right click and select Start.
    • On Windows installed as an application: Select All Programs > IBM > Cast Iron Secure Connector connector_name > Start Secure Connector.
    • For Linux menu shortcut: Select Application > IBM > Cast Iron Secure Connector connector_name > Start Secure Connector.
