Server configuration properties and database values

IBM® Security Guardium® Key Lifecycle Manager uses both properties in the SKLMConfig.properties file and values in the IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager database to control operation of the Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager server. Some properties are not present in the SKLMConfig.properties file until a runtime task creates the property and its value.

The server configuration properties are either in the SKLM_DATA/config/SKLMConfig.properties file or are values in the IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager database. Your role must have the configure permission (klmConfigure) to read or change an IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager property.

The order of property settings in the SKLMConfig.properties file does not matter. Comments can appear in the file. To add a comment, use a # in the first column of a line.

Note: If you use the graphical user interface, or command-line interface, you can change the IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager configuration file while the server is running. Depending on the change, you might see a message that indicates you to restart the Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager server for the change to take effect.

For more information about changing the configuration properties or database values, see Changes to configuration properties or database values.
