Upgrading a WSRR Studio project to a later version
You cannot use WSRR Studio to automatically upgrade a WSRR Studio project to a later version on WSRR Studio. You can, however, create a new project that contains an upgraded configuration profile, and then manually copy your UML model changes from the existing project to the new project.
About this task
When you upgrade WSRR and WSRR Studio to a later version, your existing WSRR Studio configuration profile projects will function correctly in the later version of your WSRR server. However, you cannot use WSRR Studio to work with the new features that are available in the later version unless you upgrade your existing WSRR Studio configuration profile project.
When you export a WSRR Studio configuration profile project to a later version of WSRR, the resultant configuration profile is upgraded automatically. However, configuration profiles do not contain any of the UML artifacts found in configuration profile projects, so the upgraded configuration profile will not contain any UML model changes that you have made in your configuration profile project. To preserve these changes, you must therefore copy the changes manually into a new configuration profile project, after you have upgraded the configuration profile.
Procedure
To upgrade an existing WSRR Studio configuration profile project to a later version of WSRR Studio, complete the following steps:
- Export the configuration profile from your configuration profile project to the later version of your WSRR server.
- Create a new configuration profile project in WSRR Studio.
- Import the previously exported configuration profile from WSRR into your the configuration profile project created in step 2.
- If you have created any new UML models, manually copy these models from the original configuration profile project to the new configuration profile project.
- If you have made any changes to the supplied UML models, manually copy these changes from the original configuration profile project to the new configuration profile project.
