Creating a frameset
Procedure
Using the View menu with framesets
About this task
When you are designing frames and framesets, the View menu contains the following commands:
- Refresh all -- refreshes the content of each frame with changes you have made since opening the frameset.
- Show Frame Content -- once you have populated the frames, you
can use this menu option to view either the actual content of the
frame or a short description of the frame content. For example, instead
of an actual Web page appearing in a frame, the frame contains text
such as:
Content type: URL Content value: http://www.lotus.com/
Using framesets in composite applications (Composite Application InfoBox settings)
About this task
You can use framesets you have designed as design elements in composite applications. Do the following to use a frameset in a composite application:
Procedure
- Open Domino® Designer and double-click a frameset from your composite application.
- Select Frame - Frameset Properties. The Frameset Properties box appears. At the end of the box there is a Composite Application section.
- Select the name of the application that you wish to use from the App Name dropdown list. The entries in the dropdown list specify the available composite application .XML files that have been imported into the database.
- Once an App Name is selected in the App Name field, a list of the available pages in that composite application .XML becomes available in the dropdown list of the Page Name field. Select the page that you wish to use from the Page Name dropdown list.
- Close the Frameset Properties box when you have finished.

Note: These settings are for handling framesets
used by composite applications in the Notes Standard
client. Mail is an example of a composite application used in the Notes Standard client. "Proxy"
framesets are specified so that you can open "classic" framesets in Notes Basic but composite applications
also need a mechanism to specify framesets in the Notes Standard client which uses the Java user interface. For example,
there are many links to the MailFS (Mail frameset) to open mail. Notes Basic needs to open the
real MailFS. In Notes Standard,
however, you want to specify the Mail composite application to obtain
the correct interface.
