What's new in ZD&T V12.0.1?
The following new features and changes are added for ZD&T Version 12.0.1.
ZD&T Personal Edition
- You can install the Personal Edition using the installer ZDT_Install_PE_V12.0.1.0.tgz. For more information, see Installing Personal Edition.
- The ADCD z/OS® v2.3 May 2018 Edition is available. For more information, see Installation packages.
ZD&T Enterprise Edition
- A separate installer ZDT_Install_EE_V12.0.1.0.tgz is available for you to install Enterprise Edition. For more information, see Installing Enterprise Edition.
- The ADCD z/OS v2.3 May 2018 Edition is available. For more information, see Installation packages.
- The Target environments page supports the following functions:
- The network interface configuration is added. When you configure a Linux target environment, specify the network configuration to ensure that the emulated z/OS can connect to other systems on the network.
- To delete a Linux target environment with deployed application images, you can choose to remove ZD&T instances from the target system and revert network configuration, and remove application images from the deployment directory. For more information, see Deleting a target environment.
- The Image -ADCD page supports creating an ADCD application image with IBM Z® data set components. When you create an ADCD application image, you can include extracted IBM Z data set components in the application image. For more information, see Creating an application image from ADCD package.
- The import existing content page supports the following new functions:
- You can log in the ZD&T system by using an OpenSSH private key certificate file.
- You can compress the volumes files that are imported from the ZD&T system.

- The Deploy page supports for the following functions:
- Pre-deployment validation is added. When you deploy the created application images to a Linux target environment, the pre-deployment validation function will automatically check the validation of target environments and deployment directories to ensure that the deployment is successful. For more information, see Pre-deployment validation.
- If a deployment fails when the volume file is transferred, you can resume the deployment at the last volume file that is transferred rather than the beginning of all volume files.
- The Monitor page supports the following new functions:
- Delete application components or images.
- Change an application component to system or non-system residence volume component.
- Remove deployed application images from target environments.
- Resume a failed deployment.
- Start or stop the emulated z/OS.
- Retrieve the private key.

- Support for storing the credentials of IBM Z mainframe is added. When you log in IBM Z mainframe, you can choose to store your credentials in the session. Then, you can create application components or images from the IBM Z mainframe without logging in again.
- After you log in a z/OS system, the system will be checked to ensure that the latest ZD&T extraction utility is installed.
- When you create an application component from IBM Z mainframe data sets, the date sets will be extracted to the image storage server.
- Sudo access configuration is updated in V12.0.1. For more information, see Sudo access configuration.
- The following new functions are added in the REST APIs User's Guide.
- Delete created application components or images.
- Create ADCD application images that include extracted IBM Z data set components.
ZD&T Parallel Sysplex
- A separate installer ZDT_Install_PS_V12.0.1.0.tgz is available for you to install Parallel Sysplex®. For more information, see Installing Parallel Sysplex.
- The ADCD z/OS v2.3 May 2018 Edition is available. For more information, see Installation packages.
Application Developers Controlled Distribution
Application Developers Controlled Distribution (ADCD) z/OS Version 2 Release 3 May 2018 Edition is available with ZD&T V12.0.1.

- z/OS 2.3 and all incorporated products that provided maintenance at the above stated level.

zPDT Emulator 1.8.2
The zPDT® driver that is used in ZD&T is
updated to zPDT V1.8.2, which includes the following changes:
- Update z1090 to z1090-1-8.51.14.
- Permit oprmsg inputs and outputs to be put to a separate but configurable output file.
- Support making the zPDT LPAR name configurable.
- Correct userid name length for z1090instcheck test.
