Turning off isolated suppression for RCA

To ensure that RCA works correctly for EMS discoveries, you must turn off isolated suppression.

About this task

Network Manager applies an RCA model to the network that assumes a single location from which polling is carried out. In EMS discoveries, there are, effectively, multiple polling locations. In order for RCA to function correctly, you need to turn off the RCA rule known as isolated suppression.

To turn off isolated suppression, complete the following tasks:

Procedure

  1. Edit the following file: $NCHOME/precision/eventGateway/stitchers/RCA/ProcessProblemEvent.stch
  2. Comment out the following line:
    numberOfSuppressedEvents = ExecuteStitcher('IsolatedEntitySuppression');
  3. Save and close the file.
  4. Restart the Event Gateway, ncp_g_event.
