You can use the Maximo Asset Monitor user interface to access the individual services that make up the offering to monitor usage, and manage access. You can access other services that form part of Maximo Asset Monitor through their external REST APIs.
Accessing the user interface
The Maximo Asset Monitor user interface consists of several sections that allow you to manage various aspects of your environment:
Home Get quick access to each page of the user interface and the tutorials. Figure 1. Home page
Dashboard Get quick access to your monitoring dashboards for your assets types in the Analytics Service .
Monitor View the connected device or device types and explore the metrics and dimensions of your assets in the Analytics Service. Set up monitoring dashboards to summarize and visualize critical device data for business users.
Connect Establish connections to derive data from your devices in the Platform Service and create entity types that you can work with.
Services View and access the services that are included in your Maximo Asset Monitor offering.
Users Add users to the Monitor component of Maximo Asset Monitor and manage what they have access to. Important:
A user role grants access to the user interface only. For the other services that are included with your product, on the user interface, click View Details to view the credentials and to access a corresponding service dashboard.
The services that are used in Maximo Asset Monitor, for example, PostgreSQL, can be accessed from APIs. For more information about accessing the APIs of these services, see REST APIs.
To find the API credentials for each service:
On the user interface, click Services.
Click View Details for the service.
Copy the API credentials. For example, for Platform Service API access copy: OrgId, API key, API token, and Host URL.
