Creating rule tasks

You can add empty rule tasks into the ruleflow diagram to define them later, or drag and drop packages into the diagram to create rule tasks from them.

About this task

You create a rule task to define a list of rules or rule packages to be executed as a node in a ruleflow. You use transitions to link the rule task to other nodes in the ruleflow.

Procedure

To add rule tasks:

  1. Create one or more rule tasks in one of the following ways:
    • To create an empty rule task: In the Ruleflow Editor palette, click Create a rule task button Create a rule task, and then click in the ruleflow diagram. The rule task name is a generic name, for example, task_0.

    • To use an existing rule package or rule, drag and drop it from the Rule Explorer into the ruleflow diagram. The rule task has the name of the element and already contains the rules and packages.

  2. To name a rule task, select it, and in the Rule Task tab in the Properties view specify a locale-independent name in the ID field. You can also specify a locale-dependent name in Label field.

Results

When you create a rule task ID, the rule task name appears in the ruleflow outline.
