Setting the z Systems Data Editor as the default editor

Use the File Associations preference page to associate the type of file to be used with the Data Editor. The default extension for the z Systems® Data Editor is .tdat. You can use this page to define other default file types to associate with the z Systems Data Editor.

1. On the Preferences window, navigate to General > Editors > File Associations.
2. In the File types area, select the file type. If the file type you want is not listed, click Add and type the file type in the File type field.
3. In the Associated editors section, click Add.
4. In the Editor Selection window, ensure that Internal editors is selected. Select System z Data Editor from the list.
5. Click OK to save your changes.
