To upgrade the Image Services Resource Adapter software,
you must upgrade Application Engine and
ensure that existing Image Services Resource Adapter is
installed and configured.
As part of upgrading
Image Services Resource Adapter software to run with
IBM®
FileNet® P8, you must verify the following
prerequisites have been completed:
- Ensure that Application Engine has
been upgraded.
- Ensure that existing Image Services Resource Adapter software
is installed and configured.

FileNet Image Services Resource Adapter installation package.
Tip: Use the Sample Application shipped with IBM
FileNet Image Services Resource Adapter to confirm that Image Services Resource Adapter installation was successful.
Attention: In an Image Services Resource Adapter upgrade, take care to
use the same library name (JNDI connection factory name) that was
previously set in the Image Services Resource Adapter installation.
Changing this variable can cause conflicts when accessing documents.
- Do the following tasks:
- Upgrade the Application Engine Image Services Resource Adapter Servlet, taking the
following into account:
- The servlet must be deployed on the same application server as Image Services Resource Adapter.
- The servlet does not need to be collocated with the Application Engine.
- Configure Workplace site
preferences for Image Services Resource Adapter support.
