Refreshing reports
Some reports are configured to refresh their data automatically. On other reports, you can refresh the data manually through the UI.
When you view a report that is configured to refresh automatically, the color of the Circular Arrows Refresh icon for this report is green, indicating that the report is refreshing itself automatically.
At a certain point, the report stops refreshing if no further changes are made to the report and the color of the refresh icon turns from green to red. The point in time where the color changes is equal to half of the GUI session timeout (which can be found by running the CLI command, show session timeout).
For example, if the session timeout is the default 900 seconds, the Circular Arrows Refresh icon on the Request Rate report is green for 450 seconds, then turns red.
There are several ways to refresh report data manually:
- Click Refresh on the toolbar.
- Use any toolbar button to print a report, download report data, or write the report to a PDF file. The report data is refreshed before performing any of these actions.
- Set a time interval for periodic refreshing, by setting the refreshRate
parameter value. To perform this task:
- Click Customize on the report toolbar.
- In the Configuration dialog, set the refreshRate parameter to the number of seconds after which the report data is to be updated. The default value of zero indicates that the report data is not refreshed on a scheduled basis.
- Click OK.
Customize Reports
When the user edits a report or makes a modification to the report through Report Customization, the user must manually click on Refresh. There is no automatic refresh.
UI Customization - In "New Life Cycle" dialog and "New Group" dialog, groups are limited to a maximum of 5 levels deep, so even with longer group names, all levels of group names and node item text are visible on the navigation pane.
UI Customization - When user enters "<" or ">" in the textbox of "New Life Cycle" dialog or "New Group" dialog, a popup message is displayed to indicate that "The name cannot contain < or > special characters", and the "OK" button becomes disabled.
UI Customization - In "New Life Cycle" dialog and "New Group" dialog, user can enter a maximum of 50 characters in the text box.
