Using the Optim data privacy GUI to mask data

You can use the graphical user interface (GUI) for the InfoSphere® Optim™ data privacy application to mask data defined in a data privacy service.

The GUI is available in Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux®.

To define a masking operation, use the GUI to do the following:

Create a folder to hold your data privacy services.
Create a data privacy service to identify the header information for a service, such as the name and report file location for the service.
Create one or more work items for the service to identify the type of masking required, the files you want to mask, and other information about the masking process.
Run the service to mask the appropriate data.

After you create a service and its work items, you can use the GUI to manage the service and its work items.
