Decision services activity log

The decision services activity log provides a high-level overview of how IBM® Integration Bus interacts with the embedded rules engine so that you can understand what your message flows are doing.

Activity log content

When a DecisionService node runs input parameters against a decision service, information is written to the activity log for successful and failed processing. Activity log entries for decision services include the following types of activity:
  • A decision service has run successfully, indicating the number of rules that were matched.
  • A decision service failed to run successfully.
  • The decision service repository that is defined by the configurable service has been accessed for the first time.

Activity log tags

In addition to the generic Activity log tags, another tag is specific to decision services. This tag enriches the logged information and can also be used for filtering.

For more information about the generic tags, see Activity logs. The following table shows the additional decision services tag.
Name Description Valid values
DECISIONSERVICE The name of the decision service. This name might be prefixed with the name of an application or library. Any valid decision service name.

When the decision service runs successfully, the Activity log log contains message BIP11200: Matched '&1' rules in the decision service '&2'.

If the decision service does not run successfully, the Activity log log contains message BIP11201: Failed to execute the rules in the decision service '&1'.

When the decision service repository is accessed for the first time, the Activity log log contains message BIP11202: Accessed a remote decision service repository that is defined by the configurable service '&1' of type DecisionServiceRepository.
