OpenShift Container Platform accelerator
Red Hat® OpenShift Container Platform offers enterprises full control over their Kubernetes environments, whether they are on-premises or in the public cloud, giving teams freedom to build and run applications anywhere.
IBM Cloud Pak® System is the fastest way to deploy, manage, and move application environments across hybrid clouds. By capturing applications as accelerators, you have an ideal path to move the applications across hybrid environments without any change. IBM Cloud Pak System simplifies and automates these tasks and processes to accelerate application delivery, lower costs, and reduce errors. OpenShift Container Platform handles cloud-native and traditional applications on a single platform. Containerize and manage your existing applications, modernize on your own timeline, and work faster with new, cloud-native applications. OpenShift Container Platform accelerators enable the OpenShift Container Platform to run in IBM Cloud Pak System. OpenShift Container Platform accelerator efficiently runs workloads, manages all integrated components, monitors the health of the system, and administers and manages application deployments.
Notes:
- You cannot directly upgrade your existing OpenShift Container Platform V3.x cluster to OpenShift Container Platform V4.x instead install a new OpenShift Container Platform V4.x. However, tools are available to assist you in the migration of your control plane settings and application workloads. For more information, see About migrating from OpenShift Container Platform 3 to 4.
- When you log in to OpenShift Container Platform console for the first time post the deployment of OpenShift Container Platform V4.9 cluster, the following message is displayed:
You are logged in as a temporary administrative user. Update the cluster OAuth configuration to allow others to log in.
The message occurs because the cluster oAuth is not configured automatically in OpenShift Container Platform V4.9. For more information about configuring an LDAP identity provider, see Configuring an LDAP identity provider. For V4.10, see Configuring an LDAP identity provider on 4.10. For 4.12, see Configuring an LDAP identity provider on 4.12. For 4.18, see Configuring an LDAP identity provider on 4.18
