Importing BYOL binaries for Red Hat OpenShift

Steps to download and work with BYOL binaries of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.

About the task

Use this procedure only if you are using an accelerator version that is supported by IBM Cloud Pak® System V2.3.2.0 or lower.

Before you begin

You require a license to deploy Red Hat OpenShift. Procure it from https://access.redhat.com/products/red-hat-openshift-container-platform/ External link icon before deployment.

Procedure

  1. Download the BYOL binaries Red Hat OpenShift <version> on Cloud Pak System from IBM® Fix Central.
  2. Extract the binaries.

  3. Upload the binaries to the IBM Cloud Pak® System storehouse:

    On Windows, run the cloudpakupload.bat file and provide system details, such as IBM Cloud Pak System IP address, user name, and password. On Linux, run the cloudpakupload.sh file and provide system details, such as IBM Cloud Pak System IP address, username, and password.

  4. Confirm that the appropriate files are uploaded successfully to the IBM Cloud Pak System storehouse at /admin/files/RedHatOpenShift. For the list of files, see the appropriate BYOL binaries topic of a accelerator version.

  5. Import and clone the Red Hat Enterprise Linux CoreOS OVA to IBM Cloud Pak System Virtual Images: Run cloudpakimage.sh to import and clone in Linux.
