Obtaining p and np Charts Where Cases Are Subgroups

This feature requires the Statistics Base option.

1. From the menus choose:

   Analyze > Quality Control > Control Charts

2. Select the icon for p, np and select Cases are subgroups.
3. Click Define.
4. Select one numeric variable and move it into the Number Nonconforming field.
5. You can select one variable to label your subgroups and move it into the Subgroups Labeled By field.
6. If using control rules, select a variable and move it into the Identify Points By field. This variable identifies points in the rule violations table. Otherwise, the subgroup variable is used.
7. Click Control Rules and specify rules for identifying out-of-control points. These points have a different shape and color in the chart. The output also includes a rule violations table.
