Obtaining Clustered Boxplots Summarizing Groups of Cases

This feature requires the Statistics Base option.

1. From the menus choose:

   Graphs > Legacy Dialogs > Boxplot

2. Select the icon for Clustered and select Summaries for groups of cases.
3. Click Define.
4. Select the variable for which you want boxplots and move it into the Variable field.
5. Select a variable for the category axis and move it into the Category Axis field. This variable may be numeric, string, or long string.
6. Select a cluster variable to define a group of boxes and move it into the Define Clusters By field. This variable may be numeric, string, or long string. Each cluster will consist of one box for each value of the cluster variable at every level of the category variable.
7. You can select a variable and move it into the Label Cases By field. This variable can be numeric or string. If selected, the value labels (or values if no labels are defined) of this variable can be used to label outliers or extreme cases on the plot.
