Stacked Pareto Counts or Sums for Groups of Cases

  1. Select a variable for the category axis and move it into the Category Axis field. This variable may be numeric, string, or long string.
  2. Select one of the alternatives in the Bars Represent group to specify how the data are represented on the scale axis.

If the scale axis displays counts of the category variable itself, select Counts.

If the scale axis displays the sum of another summary variable, select Sums of variable and then select the summarized variable and move it into the Sums of Variable field. This variable must be numeric.

  3. You must select a variable to define stacks and move it into the Define Stacks By field. Separate stacks are generated for each category of the variable. This variable may be numeric, string, or long string.

To panel the chart, move one or more categorical variables into the Panel By group. See the topic Paneled Charts for more information.

Note: Because each panel has the same values on the categorical axis, bars in a paneled pareto chart are not arranged in descending order for each panel. The bars are arranged in descending order based on the overall count for each category.
