Exploring 3-D Charts

You can rotate a 3-D scatterplot or a 3-D bar chart in several directions and zoom into it. You can also hide the shaded planes and the frame around the chart.

How to Explore 3-D Bar Charts

  1. Select the graphic elements in a 3-D chart.
  2. If the Properties window is not displayed, from the menus choose:

    Edit > Properties

  3. Use the 3-D Elements tab to show or hide the backplanes and wireframe or to set the viewing distance.
  4. Click Apply.
  5. If you want to view the chart from a different angle, use 3-D rotation mode to rotate the chart in real time.

Using the 3-D Elements Tab

Display backplanes. Show the shaded planes, which are the back sides of the box containing the chart. You can also select the backplanes to change the fill and border for them.

Display wireframe. Show the frame of the box containing the chart.

Distance. Zoom into the chart. You can make the chart larger or smaller by making the viewpoint closer or farther. This is like zooming except that the data markers do not change in size. Click Reset to return the settings to the default.
