Add and Modify Product Information File pages

Use the Add and Modify Product Information File pages to add or modify the information required for z/OSMF to access a product information file.

Table 1 lists and describes the fields included on the Add and Modify Product Information File pages.

Field Description
Retrieve from Indicate where the product information file is located. You can select one of the following options:
  • URL. The product information file can be accessed using a URL. For this option, internet access is required from the z/OS® system that hosts the primary z/OSMF instance.
  • Primary z/OSMF instance. The product information is contained in a data set or UNIX file that can be accessed by the z/OS system that hosts the primary z/OSMF instance.
URL Enter the URL for the product information file. This field is displayed if URL is selected in the Retrieve from field.

The URL can contain up to 4000 characters, including alphanumeric characters (A-Z a-z 0-9), blanks, mathematical symbols (+ - = | ~ ( ) { } \), punctuation marks (? , . ! ; : ' " / [ ]), and the following special characters: %, $, #, @, ^, *, and _.

HTTP proxy Select the HTTP proxy that defines the settings required for z/OSMF to navigate the HTTP proxy server that is between the primary system and the system where the file is stored. You can select a proxy from the list, or click Select and select it from the table. For more information about HTTP proxy definitions, see help topic Specifying your HTTP proxy settings.

This field is displayed if URL is selected in the Retrieve from field.

Data set or UNIX file Enter the name of the data set or UNIX file that contains the product information. Note that the primary z/OSMF system must be able to access the data set or UNIX file you specify. This field is displayed if Primary z/OSMF instance is selected in the Retrieve from field.
Description Enter a description of the product information file. You can use the description to indicate who supplied the file and for which products information is provided. The description is optional, and can contain up to 256 characters.
Action Summary List of the actions taken against the product information file. The table contains the following columns:
  • Action. Action taken against the file.
  • Date and Time. Date and time the action occurred.
  • User. User ID of the user who completed the action.
