NOop subcommand—Test the connection
Purpose
Use the NOop subcommand to determine whether the foreign host is still responding.
Format
Parameters
There are no parameters for this subcommand.
Examples
- If the foreign host is responding, you receive one of the following
responses:
200 OK
or200 NOOP command successful
. - If the foreign host does not respond or is not connected, you
receive appropriate error messages, such as:
EZA1534I Control connection with ipaddr dies.
.
EZA1457I You must first issue the 'OPEN' command
Usage
You can use the NOop command to keep a connection alive that would otherwise be disconnected if it were idle for longer than the system timeout period.
