Setting up z/OS security server RACF

Before you can begin making changes to your security product data base, you must ensure that your user ID is authorized to manipulate certificates and key rings. Consult your system’s RACF® administrator and refer to z/OS Security Server RACF Security Administrator's Guide before modifying the security characteristics for your system.

Requirement: SMP/E requires either the z/OS® Security Server (RACF) or an equivalent security product on z/OS to store and manage x.509 certificates. The remainder of this topic assumes that you are using RACF. If you are using an equivalent security product, you should refer to that product’s documentation to understand the equivalent actions. See Setting up alternate security productsfor more information.
