Preventing overwritten migration tape or overwritten backup tape

Perform the following steps to avoid overwriting migration tape or backup tape:

1. Protect DFSMShsm's resources with RACF® or a comparable product.
2. Protect your alternate volumes if your tape management system does not do it for you. DFSMSrmm protects your alternate tape volumes. Some products, however, do not.
