Grouping systems

A group is a label used to arrange or organize systems. You can define as many groups as you need to organize the systems in your enterprise.

For example, you can group systems by:
  • Purpose. For example, test, development, or production.
  • Software level. For example, zos_v1r13 or zos_v2r1.
  • Geographic location. For example, China, Poughkeepsie, or Mumbai.

Assigning a system to a group is optional. Doing so can help streamline the authorization process and help you find related systems. The actions and interfaces that you can use to manage groups are described in the sections that follow.
