Clearing login credentials

To remove your login credentials for a system from the Lightweight Third Party Authentication (LTPA) cache, use the Clear Login Credentials action provided in the Systems table. Doing so allows you to provide a different user ID and password or pass phrase the next time z/OSMF needs to authenticate with the system.

About this task

When you log into a system, z/OSMF creates an LTPA token -- a cookie -- for that system and user combination, and stores the LTPA token in the LTPA cache. z/OSMF uses the cached LTPA token for subsequent authentication requests for that system until the z/OSMF session ends, the login credentials are cleared, or the LTPA token expires.

To delete the LTPA token created for the z/OSMF instance to which your web browser is connected, log out of the z/OSMF instance and log in again using the desired login credentials. To delete the LTPA token that is saved for all other systems, complete the steps that follow.

Note: Invoking the Clear Login Credentials action does not remove the LTPA tokens or LTPA key used for single sign-on. For more details, see Establishing a single sign-on environment.

Procedure

  1. In the Systems table, select the system definition that describes the system for which you want to clear your login credentials. You can select only one system definition.
  2. Select Clear Login Credentials from the Actions menu or context menu.

Results

The LTPA token for the selected system is removed from the cache. The next time you perform an action that requires z/OSMF to authenticate with the system, you will be prompted for a user ID and password or pass phrase.
