Symbolic Address

One to eight alphameric characters, the first of which is an alphabetic character. A symbolic address corresponds to a symbol in a program or a symbol defined by the EQUATE subcommand. Qualified symbolic addressing is discussed below. For a detailed description on the use of symbols, see Restrictions on the Use of Symbols.
