Clearing the Terminal Screen

Because VTAM® clears the screen when the line number is set to 1, STLINENO LINE=1 is an efficient way for the command processor to clear the screen. Use of a full-screen TPUT or TPG macro (including the HOLD option) to clear the screen reduces performance because it causes a swap-out of the address space to wait for the I/O to complete.
