Structure of UADS Entries

z/OS TSO/E Administration
SA32-0977-00

Each entry in the UADS must contain:
  • A user ID
  • A password, or a null field
  • An account number, or a null field
  • A procedure name

An entry containing only required information would have the following structure:

A more complicated entry, with several passwords, account numbers, and LOGON procedures, might have the following structure:

The information in a UADS entry forms a tree structure. When specifying information to be added, changed, or deleted, all information (such as password, account number, and procedure name) below the level specified is affected. Thus, if you specify that you want to delete a password, all the account numbers and procedures under that password are also deleted.
