SETLOGR CTRACE command

Use the SETLOGR CTRACE command to modify the system logger IXGCNFxx parmlib CTRACE parameter pertaining to the z/OS® system logger component trace activities. The command is useful for providing tracing options for system logger other than those in default member CTILOG00.

As part of the SETLOGR command, system logger may issue a TRACE CT or a DISPLAY LOGGER command. See z/OS MVS Setting Up a Sysplex Define authorization for the system logger address space for required SAF authority.

Start of changeBefore changing the TRACE options, consider issuing a D TRACE,COMP=SYSLOGREnd of change command to see what options are currently in effect. Since logger converts the input to a TRACE CT,ON,COMP=SYSLOGR,PARM=CTnLOGxx command, look at the syslog for IEE538I or other error messages to verify the options specified in the parmlib member are accepted. For more information about viewing (D TRACE) the current system logger trace settings and specifying new options for the system logger (SYSLOGR) component trace, see z/OS MVS System Commands and z/OS MVS Diagnosis: Tools and Service Aids.
