System trace is a part of the operating system that records, for diagnostic purposes, events that occur during system initialization and operation. To record events, system trace provides three types of tracing: address space, branch, and explicit tracing. System trace can be used between subsystem initialization and the start of the generalized trace facility (GTF). For information on controlling system trace, see TRACE command.
