Through MCSOPER with REQUEST=DEACTIVATE and ABTERM=YES, you can:
- Switch processing from an extended MCS console to another active
MCS or extended MCS console
- Deactivate an active console.
Switching an extended MCS console to an alternate console allows
processing to continue without interruption, and is useful if a program
representing an extended MCS console abnormally ends, and your installation
needs to have its processing taken over by another console. You must
specify the console ID of the console to be deactivated; for example:
MSCOPER REQUEST=DEACTIVATE,CONSID=(R4),ABTERM=YES
Before
deactivating a console, you must define a valid alternate group for
the console through operator attributes. See
Specifying console attributes for
more information on operator attributes.
