Establishing positioning after logical errors z/OS DFSMStvs Planning and Operating Guide SC23-6877-00 |

VSAM is unable to maintain positioning after every logical
error. Whenever VSAM does not maintain positioning after an error request,
you must reestablish positioning before processing resumes. After a direct
or sequential access request that resulted in a logical error, positioning
can be in one of four states:
