In a system-managed tape library environment, all the 3592 drives in a library need to be upgraded with the microcode support if MEDIA6, MEDIA7, or MEDIA8 media types are used. A mount failure occurs when a drive without the microcode upgrade is allocated for a mount request requiring one of the new media types.
