The next keyword shows whether you were doing a sort, merge, or copy when the error occurred.

1. Record what you were doing when the error occurred.
   If you were using DFSORT to:

   • Sort data, add SORT to the keyword string.
   • Merge data, add MERGE to the keyword string.
   • Copy data, add COPY to the keyword string.
   For example, if you were sorting data, the keyword string so far would be:

   Keyword string
   5740SM105 RL00 BLOCKSET SORT

2. Go to Type-of-failure keyword procedures.
