TLS/SSL security

The Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol is defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) in RFCs 2246, 4346, and 5246. TLS is based on the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. SSL is not defined by the IETF.

This appendix is a reference for z/OS® Communications Server applications that use TLS/SSL.
