Like IPv4, IPv6 also defines loopback and wildcard (INADDR_ANY) addresses. The differences are shown in Table 1.
Table 1. Special IP addresses
  IPv4 IPv6
Loopback address 127.0.0.1 ::1 (15 bytes of zeros, 1 byte of 1)
Wildcard address 0.0.0.0 :: (16 bytes of zeros)
