Modifying the inetd.conf file

z/OS Communications Server: IPv6 Network and Application Design Guide
SC27-3663-00

You must modify the inetd.conf file to support the IPv6-enabled applications. The z/OS® UNIX rsh server and Telnet server support Kerberos for IPv4 connections, but not for IPv6 connections.

Procedure

In the inetd.conf file, specify tcp6 for the protocol of the service name. For the z/OS UNIX servers to support IPv6 connections, you must specify this option in the inetd.conf file. When you specify tcp6, IPv4 clients are also supported.
