Creating Security Overlays

Creating Security Overlays

You should create at least one security overlay for each security label that you are using on your system. The same overlay can be used on different paper sizes and orientations but the overlay must be carefully designed, taking into consideration the media origin and the printable area differences. More than one security overlay can be created for each combination of security label, paper size, and orientation, if desired.

Security overlays are created as you would create other overlays, but RACF® is used to protect overlays that reside in a secure library from any unauthorized modification. For example, a user of Overlay Generation Language (OGL) would have to be RACF-authorized to access an overlay in a secure library. See your RACF documentation for more information about how users are authorized to access secure libraries. For more information about creating overlays, see Overlay Generation Language User’s Guide and Reference, S544-3702.

Printing with Security Overlays

Printing security overlays is not specified with a form definition but with the SECOVLY option. This option is coded in a member of the security definitions library. See Defining a Security Definitions Library for more information.
