Creating preventive maintenance records

Preventive maintenance (PM) records are used to generate the work orders that specify the scheduled maintenance work. PMs can contain job plan and corresponding safety plan information that is copied to work orders. You can enable version control of PM records to track revisions of PMs.

Alert intervals and warning intervals
Alert intervals and warning intervals are used to monitor scheduled maintenance. An alert interval is the point at which a work order is generated. A warning interval is the point at which a warning is issued to inform you that a preventive maintenance (PM) record is almost overdue.
Due date expressions
A due date expression specifies due dates that are not standard (for example, not every n days, weeks, months, or years). For example, you might have an aircraft engine that requires a maintenance check on the last day of each month.
Version control of master PM records
The maintenance program for an asset consists of master PM records that are associated with a configuration-managed (CM) item, which is associated with a model record. When the master PMs for a model are aggregated together with other records, such as technical records and deferred work orders, they constitute the maintenance program. Version control of the master PM records helps an organization to maintain regulatory compliance.
PM Extensions (CM) application
You use the PM Extensions (CM) application to define and manage one-time extensions to due dates or meter counts that are associated with preventive maintenance (PM) records.
Creating PM extensions
You create preventive maintenance (PM) extensions to extend the due date or meter count of scheduled PMs.
