What's new in ADI 5.0.2

The key new features of ADI 5.0.2 bring the integrated Cognitive DevOps experience that accelerates efficient application development and deployment.

ADI 5.0.2 enables users to work smarter with data analysis by collecting, correlating, and analyzing data to optimize application delivery. You can foresee and reduce the risk of production failures by discovering multiple data through ADI, such as transaction response time including the DB2 and File I/O wait percentage time, CPU time, usage frequency data from IBM® OMEGAMON® for CICS®, and code coverage data from COBOL, PL/I, and Java™ environments. You can easily gather application inventory, complexity, and quality metrics from Application Discovery (AD) 5.0.2 to manage improvements in application quality and maintainability for the long haul.

For more information about key new features for ADI 5.0.2, see the following sections.

Root cause analysis

  • Developers can identify peaks in slow response time of a specific transaction in a graph and then visually compare them to DB2 and File I/O wait time peaks to determine whether the three metrics coincide to identify a problem.
  • Developers can use the Transaction Composition Map of the transaction that perform poorly to identify program artifacts that call in to the same data source(s) and changed recently then take corrective measures to resolve the problem.

Cognitive user guidance

  • ADI displays the key data points that adversely contribute to the worsening response time of transactions with the biggest impact.
  • ADI provides insights from correlated OMEGAMON for CICS and Application Discovery data that identify previously undiscovered poor performing transactions and problematic artifacts.
  • ADI ranks results to evaluate risky program artifacts in a problematic transaction with confidence and then helps developer to take corrective action to resolve problems.

New user experience

  • User can select their role after logging in to ADI, and the role related information appears on the top over the other available information.
  • User can provide comments on the newly added send-feedback page.

Globalization

  • ADI 5.0.2 online help doc is available in 5 different languages: English, Japanese, German, French, and Spanish.
