Recommended system resources and script volumes for Synthetic playback

The Synthetic Playback agent runs scripts to test the availability and performance of your web applications. Resource consumption by the agent depends on the number of scripts, the complexity of the scripts, the playback interval of the scripts, and whether the script playback is simultaneous or staggered.

Hardware requirements for the Synthetic Playback agent

In a typical scenario, the Synthetic Playback agent is scheduled to replay scripts as follows:

  • Simultaneous playback of 20 scripts
  • Script playback interval of 5 minutes

For this scenario, the following system configuration is recommended:

  • 8 processor cores
  • 4 GB Memory
  • Minimum disk space of 1 GB

For information on scheduling scripts, see Managing synthetic transactions.
