Statistics counters are reset in the following circumstances:
- At CICS® startup
- When interval statistics are written (but not when an interval
occurs and no statistics are written)
- At end of day
- When requested reset statistics are written
However, you can cause statistics counters to be reset without
writing records to the SMF data set. Change the statistics recording
status, by using one of these options:
- The Reset Time option of the CICS Explorer® Regions operations
view
- The CEMT SET STATISTICS ON|OFF RESETNOW command
- The EXEC CICS SET STATISTICS ON|OFF RESETNOW command
In this way, a user program can reset all statistics counters.
It is valid to specify the RESETNOW option only when there is a
genuine change of recording status. For example, coding EXEC
CICS SET STATISTICS ON RESETNOW when STATISTICS is already
set ON causes an error response.
