Creating a resource group

A resource group is a logical grouping of models that manages access to and provides security for the models within it. New resource groups are created as children of the root resource group. Therefore, any users or groups that are assigned roles in the root resource group inherit the same roles in all child resource groups. To create a new resource group, use the administrative console.

Before you begin

You must have administrative privileges to perform Monitor data security administrative tasks.

About this task

You can create a resource group when installing a monitor model or by going directly to Monitor data security in the administrative console. To create a resource group, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. From the administrative console navigation panel, click Security > Monitor data security > Configure.
  2. Click New. The Create a new resource group window is displayed.
  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the resource group.
  4. In the Description field, enter a brief description of the resource group.
  5. Click Apply.
